Caleb’s sudden passing has left an immeasurable void in the lives of his family, friends, teammates, and the many inter-tribal communities connected through sport, culture, and shared tradition.
Caleb was widely admired not only for his exceptional athletic talent but for the character, humility, and respect he carried with him at all times. A standout basketball player, he served as team captain and leader for the Lummi Nation team, guiding his squad to an impressive 22–3 record and a state tournament appearance. Entering his fifth year of varsity basketball, Caleb was known as a strong, quick, and determined guard, excelling at attacking the lane, creating opportunities for his teammates, and elevating the level of play wherever he competed. His leadership on the court was rooted in teamwork, discipline, and a deep understanding of the game.
While his athletic accomplishments were significant, it was Caleb’s spirit that left the most lasting impression. He was a respectful, kind-hearted, and grounded young man who was genuinely loved by all who knew him. Those who watched him play saw more than skill; they saw joy in his smile, pride in his walk, and a pure love for the game every time he stepped onto the floor.
