Duane Parkey Chuckey, TN Obituary, Death: Former Member Of Young Child In Bible School Has Died

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Duane Parkey, age 42, of Chuckey, TN, who left us on January 26, 2026. Duane was born on December 18, 1983, in Voorhees, NJ, and his unexpected loss has left his family, friends, and community deeply saddened.

Duane’s faith played an integral role in his life. He was saved as a young child at Bible School and carried that belief in the Christian faith throughout his life. His deep faith was reflected in his character and the way he lived, always striving to serve others with a kind heart. Duane’s love for the outdoors was another defining aspect of his life—he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything that allowed him to connect with nature.

Known for his relentless drive, Duane was a successful entrepreneur, founding and managing several businesses, including Parkey Security and Parkey Gate Systems, among others. His hard work and dedication to his business ventures were a testament to his ability to accomplish anything he set his mind to. Duane’s ambition was matched only by his love for his family and friends, making him a beloved figure in his community.

Above all, Duane was a devoted family man. He was a loving husband to his wife, Shelley, and a proud father to his sons, Avery Parkey and Keyland Ford, as well as his stepdaughter, Avree Smith. Duane cherished his family with his whole heart, and his presence was a constant source of love and support for those closest to him. His relationships with his family were built on a foundation of love, respect, and unwavering devotion.

Duane’s legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, from his close-knit friendships with Brent Stone, Brandon Campbell, Nick Bain, and many others, to the deep love he had for his family and friends. Duane’s infectious smile, warm spirit, and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his grandmother Willa Mae “Cotton” Parkey, uncles Dayton Parkey and William “C-Shug” Parkey, and aunt Geneva Gales. He is survived by his wife, children, parents Velvet Parkey and Duane Stigall, and a host of siblings, relatives, and friends, along with his two beloved dogs, Bernie and Nilla.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Coffey Funeral Home in New Tazewell, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 PM and a graveside service at Goins Cemetery.
